Akoma's Golden Agers 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Walk at Anne Shirrells Park on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
The Golden Agers are more than a team—we are a community bound by resilience, compassion, and unwavering hope. Our group proudly includes over 10 breast cancer survivors, each with a powerful story of strength and perseverance that inspires us every day. We walk not only for ourselves, but for our loved ones, our community, and for those still fighting this disease.
At the heart of our work is our mission: We, the Golden Agers, celebrate the strength, wisdom, and resilience that comes with age and experience. Our mission is to uplift one another through fellowship, cultural pride, and a shared sense of purpose. We remain active and vigilant in our civic duties while striving to honor our heritage, inspire future generations, and live each day with dignity, joy, and intention. Rooted in faith, love, and community, we embrace our golden years as a time of continued growth, contribution, and grace.
Guided by this mission, we are committed to raising awareness, encouraging early detection, and supporting the continued fight for a cure. Every step we take honors the journeys of survivors, uplifts those currently battling breast cancer, and remembers those we have lost but will never forget.
Building on the spirit of unity and purpose, the Golden Agers are proud to host our 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Walk at Anne Shirrells Park on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM. This event brings together our community to stand in solidarity, celebrate survivorship, and continue spreading hope.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we are louder. Together, we are making a difference.
