My Story
Well folks...it's that time of year again.
For the second year in a row, I've signed up for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
Now, before anybody asks...yes, I know there are easier ways to ask you for money. I could've told you I was stranded in Vegas...again (thanks a lot, Chet), or that Frank and Bash suddenly decided they only eat A5 Wagyu. But this is a whole lot more important.
The truth is, I honestly believe breast cancer is a solvable problem. Every year we get a little closer because of research, better treatments, and generous people who decide to pitch in. I want to help push us over the finish line.
So here's my annual opportunity to guilt-trip my friends and family...with love, except for Chet. You know what you did, Chet.
If you can spare a few dollars, I'd really appreciate it. Skip one venti Macchiato, one lottery ticket (it's just a tax on the poor), or one gadget Amazon swears you "might also like." (Flowbee?!? They still make that?). I promise the researchers will put it to better use than Jeff Bezos. Seriously, how much dome wax does a guy need?
Your tax-deductible donation helps fund life-saving research and supports people who are fighting breast cancer right now with financial assistance, emotional support, and patient services when they need them most.
Almost every family has been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. Mine has. Maybe yours has too. That's why this isn't just another fundraiser to me.
If you can donate, thank you. If you can't, sharing this post helps more than you know. If you can't do either, then the rest of us will miss you in heaven.
Let's work together so someday the Susan G. Komen Walk is just a bunch of folks getting their steps in on a Saturday morning.
Thanks for helping me make that happen. Love you all. Except for Chet.
