My group and I are walking to honor my aunt, Mrs. Kristie Lynn Battista, who lost her battle last September. Not only was she a 15 and a half year breast cancer warrior, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She was an educator for many years then moved on to be an elementary school principal. 

While fighting her cancer battle, she continued to work full-time, raise her children, care for her mother and continue her own education. For years she worked to complete all but her dissertation for her PhD.Through her strength and determination she chose to make everyday something special. 

She proved that it is possible to be going through the most difficult battles and still show kindness and compassion to each other. She was the brightest light in this world and never let anything dull it.
