The Simplest Plan

Our Story

The Simplest Plan was created in memory of our beautiful friend, Emma.

Emma was diagnosed with Stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer in the spring of 2025 at just 30 years old. From the moment she received that devastating diagnosis, she fought with everything she had. She tried every treatment option available to her, holding onto hope and fighting not only for herself, but for the people she loved most.

Sadly, after an incredibly courageous battle, Emma passed away in June of 2026.

She left behind a husband who absolutely adored her and four beautiful children who will grow up carrying her love with them. She also left behind family, friends, and so many people whose lives were made better simply because Emma was in them.

Emma was one of those rare people who made you feel at home just by being around her. She had a way of bringing you back to center—to making the world feel a little quieter and your feet a little more firmly planted on the ground. She was genuine, comforting, hilarious, loving, and an absolute joy to be around.

She is missed more than words can really explain. She is thought about every single day—in the little moments, the big moments, the memories that make us laugh, and the moments when we wish more than anything that we could pick up the phone and call her.

So why The Simplest Plan?

Because Emma loved Simple Plan growing up. What started as a little nod to something she loved became the perfect name for what we hope to accomplish: something simple, meaningful, and bigger than ourselves.

We walk in Emma's memory. We walk for her husband and her four children. We walk for everyone who has heard the words "you have breast cancer." And we walk for the families still waiting for better answers.

Triple-negative breast cancer can be especially aggressive and has fewer targeted treatment options than some other types of breast cancer. Emma tried everything she could, and we wish with all our hearts that there had been more that could be done.

That is why we are asking you to help us support breast cancer research.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund research that can lead to earlier detection, better treatments, more options, and—hopefully—more families getting to keep the people they love.

We cannot change what happened to Emma.

But together, we can help change what happens to someone else's Emma.

For Emma. For her babies. For her husband. For every family affected by breast cancer.

Please consider donating to The Simplest Plan and help us turn our grief into something that can make a difference.

Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever part of our plan. ð’—
