Dear Friends and Family,

Many of you already know Britaney’s story, but for those who do not, I thought I would share a little piece of her journey with you today.

When a woman faces a breast cancer diagnosis, one of the quietest and most profound griefs is the physical loss—the sudden, heartbreaking realization of parting with a part of your body that is so deeply tied to your identity, womanhood, and sense of self. For Britaney, facing a double mastectomy meant navigating that deep, emotional loss head-on, all while knowing that it was the necessary choice to decrease her risk of cancer tremendously.

Following that heartbreak came the realization of surgery and the grueling, unglamorous months of the reconstruction process. While she was thankfully spared the heavy toll of chemotherapy and radiation, choosing the path of tissue expanders followed by breast implants brought its own unique trials. That chapter meant managing a demanding physical transition—the discomfort of expanders, the endless adjustments, and the quiet, frustrating setbacks that tested her patience and resilience in ways few outside the experience can truly understand.

Yet, she faced every single hurdle with a grace that left me in awe. Through the discomfort and the tedious healing, her spirit never fractured.

Today, those difficult milestones are behind her. Seeing her officially finished with her surgeries, fully healed, and standing tall as cancer FREE is a triumph of the highest order. My heart swells with a profound sense of pride looking at what she’s endured. The respect I have for Britaney—for facing a terrifying diagnosis head-on, making tough choices, fighting with everything she had, and walking away the victor—is boundless. She didn't just survive; she conquered.

That is why I am walking for her this year and why I walk beside her for every other warrior who has faced this fight, every survivor still healing, and everyone who continues to battle every single day.

No one should have to walk this road alone and every step we take and every dollar we raise, brings us closer to a world where fewer families have to know the heartbreak of this disease.
