My Story
In November 2025 after a routine mammogram, I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In situ(DCIS). It is early stage cancer where abnormal cells are found in the milk ducts but have not spread into surrounding breast tissue. I underwent a lumpectomy and reconstructive surgery and then 15 sessions of radiation treatment.I am still healing and recovering and have started five years of hormone therapy.During my genetic testing, I found that my family is impacted on both my maternal and paternal sides by breast and other types of cancer. I am walking for all of my family members who have fought this battle.
