My Story
A few months ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. While dealing with chemo and the prospect of at least two future surgeries has thrown me for a loop, I feel exceptionally lucky and grateful for the outpouring of support from my family, friends, coworkers, and other members of the cancer community.
I'm also thankful to each and every member of my medical team and all of the researchers, scientists, study subjects, and prior cancer patients that have played some role in developing the incredible treatments that I'm currently undergoing. If I had received my diagnosis 20-30 years ago, I wouldn't be expecting as optimistic of an outcome as I am today. I can't even begin to put a dollar value to that type of life-altering progress, so the next best thing I can do is contribute and raise additional funds to support continued efforts in ending breast cancer. To that end, I'll be participating in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk at the Woodland Park Zoo on Saturday, September 26th - if you have a few bucks to spare today, any donation would be lovely. And potentially tax deductible too! (Consult your CPA for more info. No, not me, I'm useless in this space.)
