I walk in the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk for my daughter.

At just 24 years old, my sweet daughter was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. No parent is ever prepared to hear those words, especially when their child is so young. What followed was a challenging journey filled with uncertainty, resilience, and hope.

For 18 months, she received outstanding care at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Through treatments, appointments, and difficult days, she faced every obstacle with incredible courage and determination. I am forever grateful for the skilled medical teams, researchers, and support networks that helped guide her through one of the most difficult chapters of her life.

Today, I'm proud to say she has moved into continuing care and is back in college, pursuing her future with the same strength that carried her through cancer.

I walk to honor her journey, celebrate her resilience, and support the millions of individuals and families affected by breast cancer. I walk in gratitude for the advances in research and patient care that made her recovery possible, and in hope for a future where no family has to hear a cancer diagnosis.

Every step I take is for my daughter and for everyone impacted by this devastating disease.
