My Story
This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 aggressive breast cancer in 2021. It was found during my first mammogram. I was just being responsible and getting it done because I turned 40 that year. I almost didn't go. A lot was happening in my life but I woke up and said just get it over with.
I went through 8 rounds of chemo, a right side mastectomy and 25 rounds of radiation. I was declared cancer free March 2022. Praise God!
February 2026 I was having terrible side pain. I had seen a few doctors and my oncology nurse suggested a PET scan. It was the they discovered my cancer had returned. Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
Not the news I wanted to hear but I still trust God! My faith is in tact because I know my God can heal!
I walk to inspire all my fellow warriors of this horrific disease. I walk to show my nieces and godchildren that true strength comes from God and with Him all things are possible! I walk for my family and church family because we walk by Faith and not by sight. I walk for the loved ones I've lost due to cancer over the years. I believe a cure is possible and it will be discovered.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let's show breast cancer patients there's a whole community standing by their side.
