Breast cancer has touched my family in more ways than one. My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and this past year I was diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer. My journey has included chemotherapy and surgery, and while I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, I’m still in treatment, receiving targeted therapy, and continuing the process of breast reconstruction.

This is my first Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk, and it means more to me than I can put into words. I’m walking to celebrate my mom’s strength, my own progress, and to honor everyone whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. I’m also walking for those who are still in the middle of their fight, because I know firsthand that the journey doesn’t end when chemotherapy is over.
