Why

Ironclad Breasties in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk — and for me this isn’t just another event.

I’m a woman Ironworker, and a few years ago one of our union sisters — a carpenter — heard the words no one wants to hear: you have breast cancer.

We stood beside her through treatments, hard days, fear, and uncertainty… and together she beat it.

I wish I could say this is the only time this terrible disease has affected my life.

My best friend's mother has fought for years, she has been a warrior through it all.

My sister ironworker, who has become not only a sister at work, but a sister to me in my personal life also battled.

I have been in awe of their resilience and strength

Now I walk for them, for the fighters still pushing through today, and for the families who are living in the middle of it right now.

The funds we raise support more than research — they help real people:

• Guidance when someone doesn’t know what to do next

• Emotional support when things feel overwhelming

• Financial assistance during treatment

• Navigation to break down barriers to care

Breast cancer doesn’t just affect one person — it affects entire families, crews, and communities.

In the trades we look out for each other on the jobsite… this is us doing the same thing off the jobsite.

I would truly appreciate your support.

If you’re able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation and standing with me in this fight.

Together we can help make sure more people hear the words we were lucky enough to hear:

You beat it
