My Story
This year, I’m walking the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk not just as a supporter — but as a survivor.
In January 2024, I heard the words no one wants to hear. Since then, my life has been a nonstop fight:
• 16 rounds of chemotherapy
• 32 rounds of radiation
• A mastectomy and a full axillary dissection
• Monthly Lupron injections for the next decade
• Other ongoing medications
• Medically induced menopause at 39
• And endless appointments, bloodwork, scans, bone pain, fatigue, brain fog, stress, more side effects, and the constant question: Will it come back?
My babies were just 2 and 6 when this started. They’re 4 and 8 now. They’ve grown up watching their mom fight like hell.
And the truth is — breast cancer treatment should not be this hard. But recently, federal funding for breast cancer research was cut. Some women even lost parts of their treatment plans. When I switched insurance, I spent hours in a maze of calls and online forms just trying to access the medication I’m supposed to take without breaks. I went six weeks without a critical drug because the system failed me.
This is why I’m walking.
I’m walking for myself.
For my daughter and her future.
For every woman like me trying to survive in a system that makes it harder than it should ever be.
For our daughters, our sisters, and the generations coming behind us.
We must do better — and funding matters. Research matters. Access matters. Your donation truly helps move us toward a world where women don’t have to fight this hard just to stay alive.
If you’re able, please donate. Every contribution makes a real difference. Together, we can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those facing breast cancer today and push for the future our girls deserve.
Thank you for helping me fight.
