In 2024, I decided to walk in the More Than Pink event and volunteer with the Susan G. Komen foundation to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer as it has had lasting impacts on my family. Several of my aunts and my grandmother have been impacted by breast cancer, including my beloved Aunt Barbara who passed away in 2012. Many of my family received life-saving care. I myself receive amazing preventative care, which would not be possible without the research and fundraising that Susan G. Komen does.​ Susan G. Komen is the largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research and provides real-time assistance for treatment, medication, and transportation. Since 1989, their work has helped cut the breast cancer death rate by 44%.
