I chose to lead this year’s Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk fundraiser because breast cancer touches all of us — our families, our friends, our coworkers, and even people we cross paths with every day without knowing their stories. At a recent event, I met passengers, colleagues, and team members who have battled breast cancer, supported someone through it, or lost someone they love. Some of them I work beside every day, and I never knew what they had carried.

Giving them a moment to walk our pink runway, share their stories, and ring the bell in honor of themselves or someone they love was powerful. It reminded me how important it is that we show up for one another in every way we can — with compassion, with community, and with action.
