Sheila is my younger sister. She is a registered nurse who has spent her life caring for others, a loving wife, a devoted daughter, and a friend to many. Last year, everything changed when she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Since her diagnosis, Sheila has been in continuous treatment, including chemotherapy, steroids, and other medications. Watching someone you love fight this disease changes you — it reminds you how fragile life is, and how powerful love and resilience can be.
This year, I am participating in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk for Sheila.
I am walking for Sheila. I am walking for everyone living with metastatic breast cancer. And I am walking for the families who stand beside them every single day.
Breast cancer doesn’t just affect one person — it affects entire families and communities. Funds raised through the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk support breakthrough research and provide real, immediate help to those facing breast cancer today, including financial assistance, treatment navigation, and emotional support through Komen’s helpline.
If you know someone who has faced breast cancer, is currently fighting it, or has been impacted by it in any way, I hope you’ll consider walking with me or making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps support patients like Sheila and brings us one step closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Please consider joining me in this fight — by donating, walking, or sharing this page — and help show Sheila and every breast cancer patient that they are not fighting alone.
