The Imagine More Team – Komen More Than Pink Walk

The Imagine More Team was first created in January 2012 by my Girl Scout troop. At the time, my beloved scouts — including my own daughters — were heartbroken when I had to step away from leading them. I had just been diagnosed with stage 2C breast cancer and was recovering from a bilateral mastectomy, facing a future full of unknowns.

In response, my girls decided to honor me and stand beside me in the fight that lay ahead. That year, we walked in the More Than Pink Walk for the first time — and I made a vow: as long as I’m healthy enough, I will never miss this walk.

Now, 14 years later, as the 2026 walk approaches, I find myself once again battling breast cancer. But I’m grateful to share that my prognosis is good, and I firmly believe that God has a greater plan for me.

Over the years, the Imagine More Team has grown beyond my Girl Scouts to include friends, family, and others who are inspired to take part in this powerful event. Together, we walk to remember those we’ve lost, support those still fighting, and celebrate the survivors.
