In 2020, at 50 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer — DCIS Grade 2 with invasive ductal carcinoma (ER/PR+, HER2-). There was no hesitation. I chose a double mastectomy and focused on getting the cancer out and moving forward.

With my husband by my side and an incredible group of friends, I found strength through the Susan G. Komen community. This year, Team Brestie is walking together so no one has to face breast cancer alone.
