For years this walk was an event our mother, Esperanza, held close to her heart. It was a day that filled her with strength and pride—a day spent surrounded by family, friends, pink wigs, and a community that understood exactly what this fight means. She didn’t walk for herself alone. She walked for every woman who was scared, every family searching for hope, and every life that breast cancer touches.

This year looks different.

We walk without her physically beside us and that loss is impossible to put into words, but her presence is felt in every step we take and in what this day continues to mean to our family.

We walk for her. For her courage, the incredible strength she showed every day, her unyielding hope, the family and friends she held together with so much love,

And for every soul who is still fighting and every soul who should still be here.
