I am walking this year in the Susan G. KomenŽ More Than Pink Walk in loving memory of my mother, Katie, who bravely fought breast cancer. My decision to walk is more than just putting one foot in front of the other?it?s my way of honoring her life, carrying her strength with me, and raising awareness so that no other family has to endure what mine did.
Every step I take is for Katie, and for the millions of women and families impacted by breast cancer. The money our team raises will support groundbreaking research, provide education and emotional support, and help patients and their families get the care and resources they desperately need.
Walking in this fight is personal. I do it to keep Katie?s memory alive, to shine light on her story, and to help bring us closer to the day when breast cancer is no longer a threat. Together, we can make a difference?one step, one dollar, one story at a time.
