Walking with Purpose
This year, life handed me news I never expected to face. I was diagnosed with triple-negative stage 3 metastatic ductal carcinoma ? a breast cancer that is aggressive and challenging to treat. Hearing those words turned my world upside down. There were moments of fear, grief, and uncertainty, but also moments of determination. I realized quickly that this journey, while deeply personal, is also part of a much larger fight ? a fight for better treatments, more breakthroughs, and ultimately a cure.
That?s why I am proud to support and participate in the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk this year. For me, the walk is more than just a day of fundraising and awareness. It is a way to honor every survivor, to remember those we?ve lost, and to stand strong with those who are still in the middle of their battle ? like me.
Each step I take at the walk will be filled with hope, strength, and love. Hope that research will bring us closer to more effective treatments for triple-negative breast cancer. Strength drawn from my family, friends, and community who remind me daily that I am not alone. And love for all the warriors, past and present, who inspire me to keep going.
This year, I walk because I believe in a future where no one else has to hear the words ?you have breast cancer.? I walk because even in the hardest chapters of my own story, I know that together, we can make a difference.
