Sweet Melissa
Our daughter "Sweet Melissa" passed away November 2019 leaving behind her husband and 2 young daughters who were 4 and 6 years old at the time. She was an impassioned advocate in the fight against breast cancer as she served as a spokesperson, local board member, cancer walk emcee and in fundraising activities.
Professionally, Melissa counseled breast cancer patients receiving radiation treatments even prior to her diagnosis. Additionally, she counseled teenagers who included cutters, those with bipolar disorders and suicidal tendencies. She received her Doctor of Psychology degree posthumously 3 years after her passing. She completed hers studies in the last months of her life. To the end she was doing all she could to hep those fighting breast cancer. Her doctoral dissertation addressed the "Management of Fear After Breast Cancer Diagnosis".
To honor her legacy I serve on the Central TX (Austin and San Antonio) Market Board and as a National Advocacy Ambassador supporting state and federal legislative efforts to fund research, provide insurance coverage, and support services for those impacted by breast cancer.
I am grateful for your donation in the fight to end breast cancer and in honoring Melissa's legacy.
