As many of you know, we lost Marissa Ann Ortiz on March 31, 2025 after short, but harsh battle against breast cancer. While our family has long supported the efforts of Susan G. Komen and similar causes, this now holds an even deeper meaning for us. Witnessing firsthand the harsh reality of how breast cancer affects not only the patient but everyone who loves them has only strengthened our commitment to the fight against this devastating disease and more importantly, make sure that Marissa's memory remains prevalent in our our lives.
Marissa was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, family member, and friend to so many people who loved her. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness, strength, and resilience. She would be the first to allow us to speak openly about the difficult years she faced, but more importantly, about how she overcame those hardships and found her way back to the vibrant, loving Marissa we all knew and cherished. Her strength was unmatched—she held onto her faith and fought with everything she had until the very end. Though her life was far too short, it was full of meaning, love, and impact. In her honor, it is now our family’s mission to ensure that her story and her memory continue to live on.
We are committed to finding meaningful ways to celebrate Marissa’s life and legacy, and we invite you to join us. This year, we will walk in the More Than Pink Walk in her memory, proudly wearing t-shirts to honor her and support the fight against breast cancer. More details will be shared soon.
We hope you’ll join our team, Our Angel Marissa Ann, as we walk in love, remembrance, and hope.
