In Loving Memory of My Sister, LaTeba McCarter
My Story, Honoring my Sister, LaTeba
In February 2020, my family and I experienced one of the greatest losses of our lives when my younger sister, Teba, passed away after a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer. Though five years have passed, the love we have for her and the pain of her absence remain with me every single day.
As her older sister, I watched her face this disease with strength and grace. Her journey was both heartbreaking and inspiring, and it has fueled my commitment to turn grief into purpose. Since her passing, I have dedicated myself to supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, walking and running in her honor, and raising funds to help others who are still in the fight.
This year, I?m walking not only for Teba, but also for all loved ones?those we?ve lost, those still battling, and those who are thriving in remission. Together, we can honor their journeys and give hope to families everywhere.
Ending breast cancer requires all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let?s show breast cancer patients that they are not alone?that a whole community is standing by their side.
