There's a line from the Hunger Games movie when Haymitch says to Katniss and Peeta "You never get off this train."  For me, that is what cancer is about.  I am currently healthy.  Officially at the Cross your Fingers, and hope for the best, but I'm never getting off this train.  And neither are of the other cancer survivors that I know.  

I walk the More Than Pink walk to bring awareness to the fact that cancer isn't over when your loved one finishes treatment.  Cancer doesn't go away when your hair regrows, or you get your port removed, or when your reconstruction is completed.  I wish this was something more people understood, so that everyone would continue to provide support to the people in their lives. 

I walk so that my kids will never get the phone call that I received.  Every medicine that I currently take to stop a reoccurrence is new and didn't exist 40 years ago.  Imagine what we could do in the next 40 years.
