This October marks my one year anniversary. A milestone that feels both surreal and deeply meaningful. I?m joining the Susan G. Komen Walk not only to honor my own journey but to stand in solidarity with the countless others affected by breast cancer.

Early diagnostics saved my life. Because of timely screening and swift action, I?ve been able to spend more precious time with my children and continue my work in nursing and medicine, while making a difference in the lives of others. I?m profoundly grateful for the early detection that gave me a fighting chance and a future filled with hope.

I also walk to honor the extraordinary support I?ve received. My family, friends, colleagues, and the healthcare teams who cared for me have surrounded me with emotional and spiritual strength. Without my biological family and my healthcare family, I would not be as well as I am today. Their encouragement carried me through the most difficult days and helped me find purpose in the midst of pain.

Walking in this event allows me to give back. To provide hope, to support ongoing cancer research, and to work toward a future where no one has to endure what I have faced over the past year and the uncertainties that lie ahead. My steps are a promise: a promise to my children, my patients, and everyone touched by breast cancer that we will keep fighting until there?s a cure.
