The money our team raises will fund vital patient support to help connect wahine across our islands with services like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance, and so much more. More than a donation, it brings hope to all those affected by breast cancer. 

For over 40 years, Susan G. Komen has mobilized communities, transformed breast cancer advocacy, and expanded access to care. But the work isn't done. 
We still need better prevention, earlier detection, and more treatment-and above all, health equity in Hawaii. 

Why Your Support Matters:

·     Breast cancer claims nearly 44,000 lives each year in the U.S.-it's the second leading cause of cancer among women.  

·     Hawaii ranked 5th in the nation for breast cancer incidence, with 145.8 new cases per 100,000 annually

·     As of June 2025, a Civil Beat article reported that Micronesian women in Hawaii face some of the steepest disparities. A 2012 Center for Disease Control study showed 26% had ever received mammogram-and progress remains slow. 

·    Native Hawaiian women have the highest breast cancer incidence and mortality in the state and face more aggressive diagnoses like Inflammatory Breast Cancer. 

·      Filipino, Japanese, and other Pacific Islander woman continue to see rising rates and unequal access to care.

Together, we can create a future where everyone-regardless of background-has a fighting chance.
