Simply put Cancer Sucks. 

Almost 6 months ago I started a new job working for military housing and have met two of the best people to walk this planet. Little did I know those two people would be battling Breast Cancer at the same time. My friend Tara battling it out loud and almost to the point of being cancer free( hopefully this month!!)  and the other Vika whose battle she did not know about until a month ago. Vika unfortunately passed away a week ago today because of her battle and it hurts. Vika not only made my life here in Hawaii bearable, but she loved the heck out of JJ and shared in all his success with me. She was an encourager, gentle, and intentional. This loss hurts a lot because of the person she was for me and to others. She lost her husband to cancer not even a year ago and still showed up when her world was crushed.  

She always told me if she won the lottery she would spend it all to find a cure for cancer because she knows it is out there, and I believe in that too. 

In honor of Vika and Tara my office is participating in the Susan G Komen - More Than Pink Walk and helping to raise money for those continuing to fight their battle. 

If you feel lead to donate that would be awesome, but more so just wanted to share two badass women who have fought and are still continuing to fight. ð©·
