My cancer story
Come September, I’ll be celebrating one year CANCER FREE!
This is, without a doubt, one of the biggest flexes of my life. I’m proud of where I’ve been, who I’ve become, and the experiences that carried me through this journey of recovery.
Last August, I was diagnosed with breast cancer—and to say I was scared would be an understatement. I was terrified. My future flashed before my eyes. I thought I had always taken good care of myself: eating well, working out, and following all the “healthy” advice doctors recommend.
But here’s the truth: cancer doesn’t care. It doesn’t discriminate. It can happen to anyone. I’m the first in my family to ever be diagnosed, so in many ways, I still consider us lucky. But I know not every family is.
That’s why I’m sharing this. Please—get checked, go to your doctor, and don’t put off those important screenings. Women especially: take care of yourselves FIRST. Your kids, your pets, your family—they all need you. Cancer doesn’t care about money, time, or responsibilities. It will take what it wants if you don’t fight back.
Don’t give it the chance.
Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s life-saving. Protect yourself, protect your family, and protect your future.
Let’s stand up to cancer—together.
Please donate if you’re able.
