Why I'm Here:
Hi, I’m Gillian Your Metastatic Bestie — and I’m walking in this year’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in San Francisco not just as a participant, but as someone living with metastatic breast cancer.
I was diagnosed at 31 with ER+/PR+, HER2-low MBC — a diagnosis that will impact my world forever. Since then, I’ve been navigating scans, treatment, side effects, and a future that’s now measured in unknowns. But I’m not quiet about it. I share my journey openly on social media to spread awareness, advocate for earlier detection, and connect with others going through the unimaginable.
This walk is part of that mission — and I’m building a team to walk with me. Whether you’ve been directly impacted by breast cancer or just want to help, you’re welcome here. Join my team, walk beside me, or help us reach our fundraising goal.
I’m fundraising because research gave me options. Treatments that are helping me live right now didn’t exist just a few years ago — and the only way we make more progress is by funding more research. Your support directly fuels that.
Follow my journey, walk with us, donate if you can — and know that your contribution matters more than you know.
