As a licensed social worker and community advocate, Aftyn Behn has spent her career fighting for equitable access to health care and standing up for the most vulnerable. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States, yet far too many—especially in underserved communities—still face barriers to early detection, treatment, and survivorship support.
For Aftyn, the fight against breast cancer is personal and political. It aligns with her deep commitment to public health justice, her background in health care organizing, and her belief that every Tennessean—regardless of race, income, or zip code—deserves access to lifesaving care. She knows that research isn’t just about science; it’s about saving mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends.
Raising money for breast cancer research is a natural extension of Aftyn's work: challenging broken systems, empowering communities, and helping ensure a future where no woman has to fight cancer alone or without the resources she needs.
As a member of this team, we are each playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their mission to end breast cancer forever.
The money our team raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance and so much more.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us. United together, we can support those who need help today, while fearlessly searching for tomorrow's cures.
