My Journey: Walking with Purpose
On August 28, 2024, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear: ?You have breast cancer.? In that moment, time stood still. But I didn?t. I chose to move forward?with courage, with hope, and with determination.
The months that followed were a whirlwind of chemotherapy sessions, a lumpectomy, and radiation treatments. Each step was grueling, but each one brought me closer to healing. I leaned on my faith, my family, and the fierce belief that this diagnosis would not define me?it would refine me.
Now, just over a year later, I?m walking in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk in Nashville on October 4th. I walk for myself. I walk for the warriors still fighting. I walk for the ones we?ve lost. And I walk for the future?where no one has to face this battle alone.
This walk is more than a fundraiser. It?s a celebration of survival, a tribute to resilience, and a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can find light.
