We lost my Grandmother to ovarian cancer, partially from the treatment she got for breast cancer. I have 4 Aunts on my mom's side of the family who have battled breast cancer as well. It is scary to know such a horrific disease has affected so many in our family.

This spring I got another scary call, my dear friend of 30+ years was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. It hit me in the stomach. We are the same age, we are both mothers, and she is my strong, amazing and beautiful friend. This can not be happening to her. She is fighting this disease with everything she has. She has shown so much courage, strength, grace and love during her battle. SHE WILL BEAT IT. 

I am walking for the women who I love and have beat this disease and will continue to be survivors. I am walking for the women I don't know who have also beat this disease. And I am walking for my sweet Grandma who lost her battle to cancer.
