My Story
I was diagnosed at the age of 38. Hearing I had Stage 3 breast cancer was one of the worst days of my life. I was originally diagnosed Her2 and immediately started Chemo. Within the first month I lost all of my hair, which also makes you lose a sense of your identity. After 6 rounds I was scheduled for my double mastectomy where I would learn that I had some lymph nodes involved. This landed me with 28 rounds of radiation and back in the Chemo chair for the worst of them all ?The Red Devil?. I am thankful for the treatments that I believe have saved my life but if walking and raising money may someday find a cure I am ready to participate. If nothing else raising awareness for more women to get checked before it gets to stage 3 or even worst Stage 4.
