Here I am a year and a half out and I'm cancer free. But if you know anyone personally who has gone though what I did, you know cancer never truely leaves you. You have lasting physical and mental scars that fade with time but will never truely go away. Even though I am in remission, there is always a change it can come back with a vengeance. Even though my journey has been relatively short, treatment has grown by leaps and bounds. Standard of care is always advancing. New medications are being developed. It is so important to keep up the momentum so that our daughters will hopefully never have to be afraid of this ugly disease.
