My Story
At the end of October, Lilly and I will be joining the Susan Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. As you know this cause is very dear to my heart. In 2018 I lost my mom to stage 4 breast cancer. It traveled to her bones, brain, lungs and spleen. My family and I stayed by her side supporting her for the 3 very short months we had from diagnosis to her passing. I never felt more heartbroken and more helpless. There was nothing anyone could do to save her from this horrendous disease. My daughter will never get the chance to meet my mother and it is something that weighs so heavy on my heart. I think about her and miss her so much everyday.
Last year, my aunt underwent a double mastectomy after receiving this heart wrenching diagnosis. She had several biopsies previously that came back ok and we are so lucky that she continued to be diligent in her screenings and it was identified in the early stages. She is a cancer survivor and was (and still is) so brave throughout this journey.
This disease has significantly impacted my family and so so many others.
I want to raise awareness, help find the cause and the cure. Please considering donating. Too many moms, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends have fallen victim to this disease.
