Mya's Story
This year, we joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. We are dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever.
We are walking this year in honor of Mya's memory. She began her breast cancer journey at the young age of 28, and she fought an uphill battle for almost 18 years. We lost Mya to this disease on May 12th. She was a 4-time survivor, until this last battle, which moved to her brain.
She was always optimistic that she would beat cancer however, this was not to be. Throughout her journey, Mya was passionate about life with her husband and children, willing to try any treatment thrown at her in order to stay here on this earth with them.
