40 Shades of Pink

Our Story

Welcome to our "40 Shades of Pink" team page! We are each playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their mission to end breast cancer forever.

40 - the age that we're told mammograms should start being required. For those of us on this team who were diagnosed in our 30s, we can tell you our hopes that all women have the opportunity for earlier screening and being taken seriously by the healthcare system.

Shades of Pink - each person on this team represents a different shade, or journey, with breast cancer. Some of us had chemo, some of us had double mastectomies, some of us had lumpectomies, some of us had family history while others didn't, some of us never had cancer but showed up big time for those who did. Our stories are unique but we're bonded by our support and encouragement of each other!

And the final reason for our team name?! The "More than Pink Walk" this year falls on Mechelle's 40th birthday! :) Please consider supporting this critical need for continued awareness, advocacy and funding for research.
