My Story
When I found out the More Than Pink walk fell on my 40th birthday this year, I knew I had to be there. 40…the milestone for most women that it’s time to start mammograms. For me (and so many others) 40 would have been too late.
After my own breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 38, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of pushing for early imaging and better imaging options than just the standard mammograms.
My hope is ultimately a world with no cancer, and in the meantime, more advocacy, early detection, and continued funding for research.
Not only am I walking for myself, but also for the breast cancer survivors and warriors I’m lucky enough to call family and friends - my mom, grandma, best friend, and my two coworkers both diagnosed within a year of me.
