This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk — and I’m walking with a very special person in my heart.
In October, I lost my best friend Andrea to breast cancer. Andrea was more than a friend; she was family, my safe space, and my constant source of laughter and light. Even during her hardest days, she showed grace, strength, and love that inspired everyone around her. Losing her left an emptiness that words can’t really capture.
That’s why I’m walking. I’m walking to honor Andrea’s memory, to celebrate her life, and to help others who are still fighting this terrible disease. Komen’s mission is to end breast cancer forever, and I want to help make that day come sooner.
