My Story
The beginning of this year, I was diagnosed with non-invasive ductal carcinoma. I was completely caught off guard! I never thought I would hear those words at my age. After the shock wore off, my support village, my team of doctors, and I got to work on a plan of attack.
I had a lumpectomy done in March, to be followed by radiation. Unfortunately, the samples taken during the lumpectomy, came back positive for invasive ductal carcinoma. Not only was it invasive, it turned out to be HER-2 positive, meaning it's more aggressive than the original diagnosis. That meant a new plan needed to be created. In May, I started chemotherapy treatment. I will have 12 rounds total, followed by a mastectomy.
My world has been turned upside down, but I'm so thankful to those that are in this fight with me!
