My Story
In April of 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation, and now take hormone medication for maintenance. After months of treatment, I was blessed to finish and enter remission on December 11, 2024. That date will always mark a turning point in my life—a reminder of strength, faith, and hope.
I walk because I have a daughter, sisters, cousins, a mother, and an aunt who mean the world to me. I want them—and every woman I love—to have access to the best early detection tools and lifesaving treatments. I walk for my many female friends, so they know that early detection truly matters and can make all the difference.
I walk because breast cancer is still on the rise. Too many lives are lost unnecessarily, and we are on the verge of incredible medical breakthroughs. Research and funding make the difference between fear and hope, between diagnosis and survival.
I walk so that fewer women have to endure what I did, and so that the next generation has a brighter, healthier future.
This is more than a walk—it’s a step toward a world without breast cancer.
