My Story
Why do I walk?
I walk for me. My battle began in May 2019, I had an almost 6 year old and scared of how my life was going to change. Surgery, chemo and radiation - I am now 6 years NED (no evidence of disease). I do yearly mammograms followed with yearly MRI’s, always holding my breath, scared, worried then thankful when all comes back clear. Can that change, yes. Will it change, I pray not.
I walk for ALL the HERS. The HER that cannot walk for herself. The HER that lost her battle or is currently fighting. Lets’s not forget HIM. Did you know, In the United States, approximately 2,800 men are estimated to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2025. Additionally, about 510 men are projected to die from the disease, According to the American Cancer Society.
I call my team “Someday” based on the song “Pink” with Dolly Parton. The song really impacts how I feel and what we hope for, Someday.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
