Why I Walk
Apx. 1 in 8 US women are diagnosed with breast cancer.
On May 22, 2020 I was 1 of 8...I found out I had breast cancer which was discovered through a routine mammogram. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I went through 20 weeks of treatment, two surgeries, PT and many days, weeks, months of trying to understand why this happened to me. I fought my fight during the height of the pandemic and at times felt very alone...I don't want anyone to fight alone! My focus now is trying to help others who have been touched by breast cancer...families, friends, co-workers, other survivors,...EVERYONE! I want to share my story in hopes people understand the importance of mammograms. I want to listen to others. I want to make sure no one feels like they have to fight alone! I want to make a difference! This is my why! This is why I walk! This is my story! I am a survivor! Five years and counting...HOPE FIGHT CURE!
