This Year Was The Hardest Yet
This is the 15th year I have been fighting breast cancer. This has been the toughest year. Thanks to Susan G Komen's research, I am still alive. The money which has been raised over the years has changed life expectancy for those not just with breast cancer but for all cancers.
A year ago, I was given a diagnosis of being in remission from metastatic breast cancer. After 4 years of battling with back and rib fractures, I was finally in the clear. Then I fell. It released a triple negative cancer lying dormant in my sternum. This cancer is from the radiation.
This year I'm fighting a battle against the cancer I received as a result of the radiation. Because we concentrated on this cancer, my metastatic cancer came back.
I've beaten the odds once before and am trying to beat the odds this time.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
