My Story
After so many years of looking into it but never doing it, I finally joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
As a cancer warrior myself, I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I'm asking for your help (which if you know me is difficult for me to do). Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
It's been ten years since my diagnosis and although that's when my war with cancer started, the battles never end. In daily choices of exercise, eating right, or making sure I get to all my follow-up appointments, the war wages on. But for countless others, their war is just beginning and I will never forget what a terrifying time that is. I can only hope there will come a day when no one has to face that scary time, and if they do, that they have access to the best doctors and care, as I was fortunate enough to have.
During my treatments I'll never forget the support of volunteers who selflessly gave their time, effort and financial support to those of us in battle. It was inspiring then and it continues to inspire me today, and I'm eternally grateful to have the opportunity to give back myself and to be joining this incredible cause in the fight against breast cancer. Whether you realize it or not, any support you can offer will reverberate across treatment rooms worldwide. And I feel confident the patients in those chairs will feel the same gratitude and inspiration I felt. Let's pay it forward and join the fight.
