My Story

It might sound weird, but I prepared my entire adult life for this (Breast Cancer).  Since the day, my grandmother was diagnosed. I just knew I would be the one, the sacrificial lamb for my generation to endure the battle. I was willing to do so, so I prepared myself mentally (should?ve focused more on physically) and emotionally. What I didn?t prepare for was not being anywhere close to my familiar support system. I had moved 1000 miles away from safety and security to plant roots somewhere different. But when life is lived correctly, you learn to adapt and the positive energy you seep, you will reap.

That being said, I forged a new support system. With the foundation of amazing Citi coworkers who turned into new friends. They helped chauffeur me to and from the hospital, made sure I had food and most importantly insured my stable mental health didn?t falter. They filled the gaps between the countless flights family and friends made to visit my beside and saw me through my trials.

I would like the moral of my story to be that you can prepare for life to throw you those lemons by learning how to make lemonade but it?s the love that life throws at you that makes it sweet.
