I am walking to support the many women that have been impacted by breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, accounting for 32% of newly diagnosed cancers. The mortality rate is about 40% higher in Black women than in white women.  In response to these statistics, Komen implemented Stand for H.E.R. (Health Equity Revolution). A program that breaks down barriers to decrease poor breast cancer outcomes for Black people -- now and in the future.
