On Wednesday, April 16, I heard the words no one ever expects to hear: “You have breast cancer.” I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma and in that moment,  I began a new chapter as a cancer patient.

Since then, I’ve been walking a path I never imagined, but I know I’m not walking it alone. This year, I’m joining the MORE THAN PINK walk, not just as a participant, but as someone living the reality of this disease. I’m walking for myself, for every woman who’s heard those same words, and for the hope that one day, no one else will have to.
