My Story
I was diagnosed with my first breast cancer at the age of 29 back in 2012. After undergoing a lumpectomy, 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 28 rounds of radiation I felt like I was on the road to recovery. I found out I was pregnant in 2014 and shortly after I found another lump which turned out to be a recurrence of my cancer. So at 22 weeks pregnant I underwent a double mastectomy. To say I had a miracle child is just an understatement. After I gave birth to my daughter I found out the my cancer had spread to my skull and by spine making it a metastatic diagnosis. That was 10 years ago this year. I continue to be amazed at the advancements in medications and continue with routine check ups to stay up on my health. I am walking for the many friends that have been diagnosed with this horrible cancer and for myself and family. I hope you all join me on this journey.
