My Story
I joined the Komen community in 2024 and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk because I was diagnosed with Stage 0, Triple Negative Breast Cancer in November 2023. In March 2024 I underwent a double mastectomy and in September 2024 I had my reconstruction surgery.
Up until I had my annual exam on Halloween, 2023, I had no symptoms. If it hadn't been for my annual "squash-o-gram" I never would have known that I had breast cancer. It didn't run in my family and when I took the genetic test, it came back negative for a predilection for cancer.
